Grace and Monachino will appear on the ballot with Republican/Conservative candidates Veronica Gorman and Brett Noonan.

For the unexpired Town Council term in Kirkwood, Sandy Wasson is the apparent choice of Republicans. Wasson got 114 votes to Marc Latini’s 58 votes and Brian Kinney Junior’s 46. There were no write-ins.

Ranked Choice voting made its debut in New York City's Mayoral Primary June 22.

Instead of just selecting one candidate, voters selected their top choices in order of preference.

That means even if the voter's number 1 pick didn't have enough support for a win, the voter's ranking of the other candidates could play into who comes out the winner.

Counting all the votes and figuring out what candidate is first, second, third and who is eliminated takes time, making it hard to project winners before the votes are completely counted.

There were 13 Democratic candidates on the ballot ranging from former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang to current front-running Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.  Another of the baker's dozen candidates running for the Democratic nod was artist and political activist Paperboy Love Prince from Brooklyn.

Another race drawing interest in New York was in Rochester where Mayor Lovely Warren, who was running under a cloud of controversy, has lost her bid for a third term.

Warren came up short in the Democratic Primary against City Councilman Malik Evans.

Warren had remained defiant through a rocky second term during which both she and her estranged husband were indicted: she for alleged campaign finance violations and he for alleged drug trafficking. Both have pleaded not guilty.

Warren also faced calls for her resignation over her handling of the death of Daniel Prude in Police custody last year.
