This Sunday at 2am we will set our clocks ahead one hour and switch to Daylight Savings Time. This gives the Southern Tier a little added sun to the latter part of the day.

The big question is, what does this do to our sleep pattern? Well, how much of a disruption we experience varies from person to person.

I get out of bed between 2:45am and 3am to start my day, something I've done for over 20 years. I can honestly say the time changes have no effect on me, but according to the experts it can have some serious health consequences.

The main concern seems to be the disruption in sleep patterns, they also found that heart attacks jump on the average 25 percent the day after the clock change.

The subject has become concerning enough that the state of Washington has proposed a bill that would make one standard time all year.

The time change was adopted by congress in 1960 so that light extends later into the evening, and then turning it back for winter.

I don't think most of us mind the change, dark or light, we just want it to be warm!
