A man was hurt during a dispute in which a shot was fired at a residence on Binghamton's North Side.

Police were called to 114 Broad Avenue around 8:40 p.m. Monday to investigate a report of shots fired.

An investigator saw a sport utility vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was stopped by police on Krager Road in the town of Kirkwood. The driver - 28-year-old Alexander Pass of Conklin - was ordered out of the SUV.

Police said a passenger - 36-year-old Charles Kibicho of Binghamton - then hopped into the driver's seat and drove off. He eventually was taken into custody in the town of Fenton.

Investigators determined Kibicho had assaulted the owner of the Broad Avenue home and fired a shotgun during the incident.

Kibicho has been charged with reckless endangerment, menacing and assault. He also faces counts of weapon possession and driving while intoxicated.

Pass was charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing the homeowner's phone.
