With all the advancements happening in our lifetime, while we may have enjoyed a slower pace of life, it seems that is no longer the case.

So much is instant these days. Remember when you had to get up to change the channels on your television or walk to another room to answer the (corded) phone?

Okay, for those of us who embraced computers and the internet in its infancy, remember how long it took to get online and for a web page to load? Not now (well, unless your computer is on its last legs.)

Our lives seem to be in fast mode. And with that, can come impatience. Add me to that list from time to time. Especially when I need to get somewhere, fast, and something is holding me up!

One thing that tests my patience, is local traffic lights. I'm sure it's the same for many others as well. Traffic lights that seem to stay stuck in the stop mode for way too long. A while ago, I asked what Southern Tier traffic lights seem to stay in stop )red) mode the longest. Wrote about it, and you can read the results here.

Then, someone asked me to write about the shortest green (go) traffic lights in the Southern Tier. And they do exist. Take it from me. I'll go first - on the overnight hours (at least) traveling south on Front Street to the intersection of Clinton Street, the light stays green for five seconds, tops.

Every day I deal with this. Traveling east or west on Clinton Street gives motorists much more 'go' time. Why? Anyway, I asked on that social media platform thingy, what Southern Tier traffic lights are in the 'go' mode for the shortest amount of time. Here are some of the responses. Did we miss any?

Sean K, says the new light at the end of Vestal Avenue to get onto the Vestal Parkway.

Mosley & Son Electric adds that North McKinley Avenie to Watson Boulevard in Endicott heading towards North Street has a short traffic green light.
Dawna F. commented that the one by the Oakdale Commons on Harry L Drive & Reynolds Road in Johnson City - only 5 cars can get through at one time!
Lori T. notes that a short traffic green light can be found at the corner of Sycamore Road and the Vestal Parkway.
Jeff H. adds that the green light doesn't stay green for very long at Smith Hill Road onto Upper Front Street Binghamton.

Lee C. mentioned a short traffic green light can be experienced on the Vestal Parkway, turning left towards Main Street in Vestal.

Here are more Southern Tier roadways that have short traffic green lights, including photos!
