
Readers Reveal Favorite Mexican Restaurants From Binghamton To Painted Post
When I was growing up, most meals at home were a combination of various meats, potatoes, vegetables, and a dessert. My mom was a great cook. I miss those meals. We didn't snack on junk food, although a bowl of potato chips was a Saturday night treat from time to time. Fruit and vegetables were our snack foods.
It wasn't until I got out on my own that I began trying other types of food I hadn't experienced or even known existed. Some I enjoyed, others, not so much.

For many years, I was not a fan of Mexican food. But for whatever reason, as I got older, I began to really take a liking to the various Mexican cuisine offerings.
I enjoy the food of our many locally owned Mexican restaurants in the Southern Tier of New York and into Northeastern PA. While I don't have a 'favorite' local Mexican restaurant, I was curious what our readers enjoy best.
Here's a taste (sorry for the pun) of what some of the respondents told me through a social media question I posed a couple of weeks ago: "What's your favorite Southern Tier NY or Northern Tier PA Mexican restaurant, and what makes it so special?"
