Born on this day 1947 in Salinas California, the world, or at least his parents, doctors and nurses welcomed Samuel Roy Hagar into this world. For that, we are grateful.

Known to us as Sammy Hagar, he's had quite a ride in the world of Rock-n-Roll. Just look at his accomplishments. He writes great songs, is an amazing singer and can really jam on a guitar.

Sammy's career spans from his solo efforts to Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot and The Circle, to owning a restaurant chain. And who doesn't enjoy a Cabo Wabo Tequila? Seriously!

His big claim to fame on the single side includes I Can't Drive 55, You're Love Is Driving Me Crazy and Three Lock Box.

For this week's Classic Rock Pick, take a second or two and check out this Sammy Hagar version of Bad Motor Scooter back in 1983. Happy Birthday , Sammy!
