Usually I make my pick of the week on Wednesday, but procrastination set in. If you know me by now, you know that is my middle name.

So, let's fill up the gas tank in the old Whale Time Machine and travel back to 1975 when the rock group Foghat released Slow Ride. But first, a bit of history if you will.

I remember when Foghat came to rock the stage at Spiediefest at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton back in 2014. That was a great show, the crowd was really into it and the guys in the band were awesome to hang out with.

Fohat, formed in the U.K.,  recorded the song at a studio in Sharon, Vermont. Dave Peverett is credited as the songwriter of Slow Ride. While we play and enjoy the album version on The Whale, a single version was also produced. If we were to air that version, all hell would break out.

The album where you can find this musical gem, is 'Fool For The City', which also features great tunes like My Babe, Terraplane Blues and of course the title track Fool For The City.

For this week's pick - Slow Ride, enjoy this almost ten minute version from a concert in 1978 from Foghat.
