Quitting Smoking Again (Part 3)
The company we work for, Town Square Media, started a new quit smoking initiative. If you were to quit a month before the Great American Smokeout, and still be smoke-free on the day of the Great American Smokeout, they promised us a gift certificate as a reward. For what, or how much? I don't know. But I figured now was as good a time as any to try and quit. Besides I was getting really tired of hacking up a lung every morning.
So here we are starting week three the challenge and so far so good. I pretty much quit cold turkey. I bought a pack of nicotine gum, and I have chewed a few pieces of that but I'm not relying on that heavily. Hopefully, I will be able to stay away from smoking this time around. But to be honest with you, I really wish there were no ill side effects from smoking because I really do enjoy smoking. I enjoy it with alcohol, coffee, just after a meal, or even just after waking up. But I guess my health is more important than the joy I get from smoking.
