According to a posting on the Endicott Police Facebook page, Police were called about a 2014 Cadillac hearse that had been stolen at around 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2.  The green hearse with a black roof was seen traveling south on Vestal Avenue in the Village of Endicott.  The car, more often seen driving very slowly in a procession, instead of fleeing law enforcement squad cars, was then seen traveling westbound on Route 434, the Vestal Parkway, in the Town of Vestal.

Endicott Police say they managed to find and recover the stolen hearse.

There is no information provided in the posting concerning a description of a suspect or more than one person who may have been involved or a possible motive for the theft, other than a weird joy ride.

Police have also not given any information about the owner of the hearse or if the vehicle had been secure before the suspect or suspects were able to get into the car and take off with it.

Police say they would like to hear from anyone who may have information concerning the theft and the vehicle’s travels.  Tips can be called into the Village of Endicott Police Detectives at (607) 785-3341. Police say they would also be interested in seeing any video anyone may have related to the incident.
