Early Morning Fire Damages Johnson City Home
Fire officials are looking into the cause of an early morning blaze in the Village of Johnson City that began as a reported porch fire but spread into the building.
Firefighters were called to 51 Union Street on the south side of the village, a block north of Riverside Drive shortly before 3:30 a.m. February 3.
Three people were reportedly briefly trapped in the home but were able to get out. Medical crews were called to evaluate the residents for breathing difficulty.
Officials requested a second alarm minutes into the incident. The fire was reported knocked down in about 20 minutes but not before the flames had progressed from the porch into the structure of the home.
