Broome County Emergency Services officials say a portion of Day Hollow Road in West Corners had to be shut down as crews responded to an early morning house fire June 9.

The blaze at 820 Day Hollow Rd. was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m.  The home is located between Irma and Carrie Avenues.

Firefighters on the scene had reported the main body of the fire had been knocked down approximately 20 minutes after their arrival.

Investigators will be looking into a cause of the blaze through the morning.

4 a.m.Update:

Fire fighters on the scene report the blaze was out at 3:56 a.m.and they were starting "overhaul" operations.

Emergency Communications says West Corners firefighters were joined at the scene by Union Center and Vestal Fire Departments as well as the fire coordinator and investigators.

The homeowner had reportedly called in the fire. There have been no reports of injuries.
