Man Seriously Injured in Town of Binghamton House Fire
A Town of Binghamton man is being treated for what appear to be serious injuries following a house fire overnight April 24-25.
Firefighters from numerous departments responded to a home at 3007 Hance Road at around 11:36 p.m.
A second alarm was sounded and fire crews remained on the scene for over two hours, returning to their stations shortly before 2 a.m.
The victim’s wife is said to have reported the fire that left the home heavily damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation but a heating system at the home may have been involved.
The man’s name and condition are not available.
Firefighters and equipment from Town of Binghamton, Conklin, Five Mile Point, Endicott, Silver Lake, Vestal and the City of Binghamton were among those responding along with the Broome Sheriff’s office, fire investigators and several ambulance squads.
