U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York, Carla Freedman, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office Janeen DiGuiseppi and New York State Police Superintendent Kevin Bruen say a Baldwinsville man pretended he was a female fashion designer looking for models and asked an 11-year-old girl to send him sexually explicit videos over Instagram.

22-year-old Richard Curtis was sentenced to five years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Authorities say in September of 2017, Curtis convinced the child to produce and send five sexually explicit video files to him.

In addition to prison time, Curtis will be on supervised release for 35 years, pay a $100 special assessment and be required to register as a sex offender.
