The sitcom was the brain child of Norman Lear who was no stranger to groundbreaking television shows with serious issues, his resume included All in the Family and the Jeffersons.

Each week from 1975 to 1984 viewers watched  the story of divorced mom and her two daughters dealing with real life topics never shown on television before.

‘This is it (This is it) This is life...the one you get, so go and have a ball’ is how the theme song started.

Bonnie Franklin starred as the mother, Ann Romano.

The show introduced a young Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips, (daughter of Mamas and Papas founder John Phillips) as Barbara and Julie.

Pat Harrington who just past away a few weeks ago was Dwayne Schneider, the building's quirky superintendent

I loved the show and watched each week through its run.

My Throwback Thursday memory for this week is “One Day at a Time”
