One of Classic Rock's most popular songs is Golden Earring's Radar Love. It's a song that I would classify as driven.

Radar Love is one of those songs that no matter where you are or what you're doing at the time you hear it, this song gets you pumped up. A good example would be when you are in your vehicle and the song comes on the radio. Radar Love is a driving tune...literally. That's the point of view of an automobile driver according to the song. It's a tune that teases you to fly down the highway, passing everyone in sight, although that's probably not a good idea.

A bit of history on Radar Love...it scored well on singles charts around the world, peaking at number 13 on the US singles charts. It was released in 1973 on the Golden Earring 'Moontan' album. 1973 was the year I graduated high school. Radar Love was one of our senior year anthems.

For this Closer Look, enjoy Golden Earring performing Radar Love at a TV show appearance in 1973.
