SUNY Broome Graduation Day
While Binghamton University holds most of its graduation ceremonies this weekend for the various schools, it’s graduation day May 19, 2022 for SUNY Broome Community College.
The 73rd B.C.C, commencement will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Visions Veterans’ Memorial Arena in downtown Binghamton. Students were planning to gather on the campus on Upper Front Street in the morning for photo opportunities followed by rehearsals.
SUNY Broome President, Doctor Kevin Drumm will welcome students, parents, family, friends and local dignitaries at the traditional ceremony at the Arena.
704 students are graduating in the Class of 2022
A news release from SUNY Broome reports: of these graduates, 62% are female while 38% are male. The ages of the graduates range from 16 to 65, with an average age of 26. Approximately 72% of the graduates are traditional, while 28% are non-traditional.
The most popular graduating major is Individual Studies.
During the pandemic, SUNY Broome was forced to have graduates drive through on the campus to receive their certificates under a shade tent.
Current COVID-19 guidelines are being followed for the graduation ceremonies including attendees who are not vaccinated to be masked while masks are optional for those who have been vaccinated and social distancing practices are encouraged where possible.
