The 24th annual memorial blood drive is being held from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Owego.  Donors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food or monetary donations for Tioga County Rural Ministry.

The annual blood drive normally features a rigatoni and meatball dinner served to all donors.  That is still happening but as 'dinners-to-go due' to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Supervisor says his father passed away on December 25, 1997 after a battle with cancer and his mother , Grace Castellucci passed away in May of 2010, also of cancer.  He says the blood drive has been held to honor the memory of both and raise awareness of the importance of donating blood.
