The Twin Tiers Is Home To Many Civil War Memorials [GALLERY]

I love to learn about the history of just about everything. Almost like that kid that keeps asking questions and annoying the you-know-what out of people. Well, I'm not quite like that now, but I continue to love to learn about history, and more specifically the history of things about the world.

I'm a fan of military history, probably because my dad was the same. He was a fan of World War II history. My first interest was the Vietnam War. I became interested in the Korean Wr after becoming a fan of the M*A*S*H TV series. While that was fictional, I wanted to learn about the realities of that conflict.

And then I became interested in learning as much as I could about World War II. I've seen many documentaries about the war, and read up on the many aspects of World War II. I will never understand how humans can bring on such horrors to others, such as the events that happened during that war or any other.

Recently, I was checking out some history of the United States Civil War and found a website called Treasures of The Tiers. One of the sections on the website features Civil War monuments around our area. There are many more war monuments than I even knew existed in our area, so I thought I'd highlight a few in pictures through Google Maps.

I know I've probably missed one or two, but here are eight amazing Civil War monuments in the Southern Tier of New York and Northeast Pennsylvania, and maybe one day, take a road trip and check out these memorials in person.
