The official ribbon cutting for the Kopernik Science Park was a 10am this morning, held on Zoom as a virtual ceremony that included Director of the Kopernik center Drew Deskur and Broome County Executive Jason Garner, New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo along with many members of the Junior League who provided donations for the project.

The project had to deal with many obstacles including financial issues and a swamp on the property, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The park combines fun and informative lessons on science along with an actual playground for the kids to enjoy while they learn.

Kopernik Center will also hold their yearly Astrofest at the observatory with a chance to view the sky and learn more about the stars CLICK HERE
