How’s Your Bracket Looking?
With some big upsets this weekend in the NCAA Tournament, my bracket is not looking too good. Out of 500 Townsquare Media employees that took part in our company bracket challenge, I am ranked 86th. I am still alive because I have Villanova has the Champions and they are moving on to the Sweet 16. The problem is, I had Cincinnati going to the Championship Game to play Villanova and they were knocked out by Nevada yesterday. Also, I was kind of shocked that Syracuse made it to the Sweet 16 as they beat Michigan State. I had Michigan State making it to the Elite 8 so that's going to hurt my chances as well. With that being said, and I know it's a long shot, I I think it would be awesome if Syracuse won the whole thing. Even though I don't think that's going to happen, I think it would be awesome if they did.
Hats off to U.M.B.C. for knocking out Virginia in the first round. It was the first time ever that a 16 seed knocked out a number 1 seed. U.M.B.C. Plays in the American East Conference, the same conference as the Binghamton Bearcats. I had Virginia making it to the Sweet 16 but then getting beat by Kentucky on their way to the Elite 8. Watching U.M.B.C.'s upset made me think what could have been if Binghamton beat Duke back in 2009 in their only appearance in the big dance. In that game, Binghamton was the 16 seed and they lost to Duke 86 to 62.
