The Binghamton Devils went to overtime for the fourth time this season and lost to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 5-4 last night.

The Phantoms scored first with a jammed shot from the side of the net by Pascal Laberge 2:21 into the first period.

The Devils Fabian Zetterlund tied the game at one apiece with his first goal of the year at 6:16 in period one.

Lehigh Valley would score two more goals in the first period to take a 3-1 lead after one.

Binghamton was on a power play 1:08 into the second period when Nick Merkley brought the Devils to within one, Binghamton would tie the score with a two on none pass from Marian Studenic to Danick Martel, who fired it into the net evening the score 3-3 after two.

The Devils took the lead in the third period when Nate Schnarr scored his first goal of the year putting them up 4-3, but the Phantoms would tie the game off a shot from Linus Sandin sending the game into overtime.

Both teams played great defense in the OT until Max Willman scored his second goal of the night to give the Phantoms back to back wins over the Binghamton Devils 5-4.

The Binghamton Devils will have another chance at the Hershey Bears as they’ll host theie North division rivals tomorrow night at 7pm from the RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House in Newark.
