Binghamton Devil fans have been waiting nearly a year for the return of hockey, but they'll have to wait a little longer.

The Devils statement posted to Twitter did not list a reason for the postponement, but the Bears' and Penguins' statements said the move was because of COVID-19 protocols affecting Binghamton Devils staff. The team is not in Binghamton and is playing the entire 2021 season in Newark, New Jersey.

The B-Devils' parent team, the New Jersey Devils, are dealing with COVID-19 issues of their own, having been shut down until at least February 6 after more than a dozen players were added to the team's COVID Protocol Absence List.
