There have been many remakes of holiday classics, but this one always stands out as  a favorites for many of our Whale listeners.

This video combines a Christmas classic with a kind of hybrid arrangement which features one of the oddest duet pairings, America's legendary crooner, Bing Crosby and Ziggy Stardust himself, glam rocker, David Bowie.

Recorded for Bing's 1977 Christmas special, the producers suggested they sing the traditional song Little Drummer Boy, to which Bowie refused, saying he hated that song.

They agreed on the addition of a counter melody which Bowie would sing and 'Peace on Earth/Drummer Boy' was born and has since become a holiday favorite!
