The song was co-written by Al Green was never released as a single, until label mate Syl Johnson released his version the following year.in 1975

Al Green's version was ranked number 117 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The song was even recorded by Foghat for their album 'Night Shift' in 1977, many others have recorded versions of this song, but the biggest hit was from ' Talking Heads' in 1979.
