The National Weather Service in Binghamton says some thunderstorms May 15 could pack a punch with strong winds tied to the cold front.

Forecasters some storms may become strong to severe in the afternoon into early evening. Damaging winds, gusting over 25 miles per hour, are expected to be the main threat. Locally heavy rainfall may also occur.

There have been no cautions issued concerning the possibility of any flooding resulting from the rain.  However, motorists are always advised to be aware of reduced visibility and the chance of ponding on the roads, especially in poor drainage areas including in underpasses and other spots on urban roads
