A couple minutes ago I played Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and while I've heard this song hundreds of times, I just had a flashback to the first time I heard it.

I was eight years old and I was in my sister Jeanine's room (today is her birthday, by the way, Happy Birthday Jeanine) when she put the record on her stereo. I remember hearing it thinking, "what the heck is this?" It was unlike anything I had ever heard before- Freddie Mercury singing about killing a guy and how he threw his life away. He was being asked to be set free and was told no and then the song really kicked in. I was like, "wow, this is awesome." Then the lines, "So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye"? For the longest time, I thought the line, "So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye"? was "Stop me and spit in my eye". It was amazing and from that moment, I was hooked on the song. I remember "borrowing" my sister's record and listening to it over and over again in my room.

With all the overdubs, it took three weeks to record Bohemian Rhapsody. I think we can all agree that it truly is a piece of art.

I think it's awesome when you hear a song and it can take you back in time. Sometimes the song reminds you of a certain period in your life and sometimes, like this, it takes you back to when you first heard it.

Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely one of the coolest songs ever written. It's been covered a couple of times and even the Muppets got in on the fun. If you've never seen the Muppets cover of the song, check it!
