Many things came to a sudden halt in March when the coronavirus pandemic hit including the sports world. Locally, we were bummed when the Binghamton Devils season came to an early end. They were the hottest team in the AHL and it looked like they were going to make the playoffs for the first time as the Binghamton Devils.

As you probably know, I've been hosting Chuck-a-Puck between the 2nd and 3rd periods for many, many years. I enjoy doing this especially when my daughters help me on the ice and when we give away a car at the end of the regular season.

This year, they would have given away the car from Jack Sherman Toyota on Saturday, April 11th. So what are they going to do this year with the season-ending prematurely?

I've been asked by many and now I know the answer. They will have the Chuck-a-Puck car giveaway during a virtual event on Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30 p.m. and you have a chance to win that car.

There were six home games left when the season came to an end and that means you'll have six chances to qualify to win the car. The Binghamton Devils have been taking online donations with all the proceeds going to help rebuild the OurSpace Playground at Recreation Park.

Donations are a minimum of $5.00 and every dollar is an entry to win one of the remaining six spots. You have until Friday, June 19th at 4 p.m. to enter, so go here to get in on this great contest.

The six winners will be announced on the Binghamton Devils Facebook page on Saturday, June 20th at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30 p.m., the Chuck-a-Puck finals will be at Jack Sherman Toyota on Court Street in Binghamton.

All participants eligible to win the car will be invited (via Zoom) to pick their key(s) in numbered bags. The finals will be broadcast on the Binghamton Devils Facebook page.

By the way, the money that was taken in for Chuck-a-Puck at the games that were played will still go to the STHA and SUNY Broome.

So go here now and (virtually) CHUCK YOUR PUCKS!
