Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say they found two men in possession with a large amount of narcotics during a traffic stop in the Town of Otselic.

Deputies pulled over a car on Coakley Road shortly before 3 p.m. on March 1 and found the driver, 31-year-old Chad Youngs, was operating the rental vehicle without a license.

Authorities searched the vehicle and found 69 bags of heroin, methamphetamine, packaging material and a digital scale.

Youngs is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

30-year-old Zachary Bumpus, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.  He’s charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both were released on appearance tickets to answer to the charges in Town of Otselic Court at a later date.
