Cortland Woman Found With $6K+ Worth of Drugs
A Cortland woman is accused of having a large amount of heroin, methamphetamine and cash in her possession when the Cortland County Drug Task Force and Cortland City Police attempted to stop her on Pendleton Street Monday, June 6.
Sheriff’s officials say 39-year-old Shauna Hamilton of Cortland reportedly fled police and resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Authorities say they found Hamilton in possession of 96- bags of heroin, around one-and-a-half ounces of methamphetamine, drug packaging material, scales and cash. Deputies say the drugs are estimated to be worth around 61-hundred dollars on the street.
Hamilton is charged with two felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, two misdemeanor counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia as well as misdemeanor Resisting Arrest.
She’s been ordered to reappear in City of Cortland Court later this month.
