
Tompkins County Cleaning Woman Accused of Cleaning Out Jewelry Box
A Tompkins County woman is accused of stealing jewelry and other items from a home she had been hired to clean.

New York State Police say 50-year-old Phyllis Melton of Ithaca allegedly stole the property from a home in Lansing and pawned the items.
Melton was hired as a cleaner when a complaint was filed in August accusing her of taking jewelry and other property.
She was arrested at her home September 5 and charged with felony grand larceny.
Melton was released on her own recognizance.
