The show ran from 1969 to 1974 and featured two widowed parents each with three children, its five season run has been syndicated for almost 50 years.

I don’t remember the initial start of the show, but I do remember being instantly drawn to the character Marcia, and I was hooked.

I think most kids growing up at that time could relate to the situations on the show, everything from tattling and sibling rivalry, to your first job and first kiss.

I was the oldest in my family and could identify with Greg and the pressure he was under to lead by example.

The show has some memorable moments from Jan’s 'Marcia, Marcia, Marcia' rant to Bobby’s 'Pork Chops and Applesauce', Greg needing his own space and moving into the attic, and Marci getting hit in the face by the football just before her big date.

I also liked the musical episodes where they formed a band (called the Silver Platters) to enter a talent show to win money to buy their parents an anniversary present.

There were also specials that reunited the family and even a movie version which featured some cameos from the original cast.

Last week, we just lost the matriarch of the TV family, Florence Henderson who was synonymous as the character Carol Brady.

Here is my Throwback Thursday for this week, The Brady Bunch.
