Maybe I should rename this week's pick as the Southern Classic Rock Pick of the Week. This band has it's roots deep in the South.

That band is The Charlie Daniels Band, and they are one of my favorite. I've had the opportunity to see them live on several occasions, especially since they've visited the Greater Binghamton area many times. Charlie Daniels is one nice guy and one hell of fiddle player.

Charlie just turned 79 last month, but age hasn't stopped him from performing, and still sounds at the top of his game. Some of my favorite tunes include Long Haired Country Boy, Still In Saigon, Legend of Wooley Swamp, In America and of course The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

The Charlie Daniels Band continues to tour and you have a chance to see them live on June 17th at Magic City Music Hall. Look out for The Devil when you're there. Speaking of The Devil, let's watch Charlie Daniels outplay him on the fiddle at the Grand Ole Opry as this week's Classic Rock Pick.
