Shelter Slam Was a Huge Success
This Saturday Shelter Slam was held at Endwell Greens Golf Club in Endwell, New York. More than 15 bands took to the two stages to help raise money for local animal shelters here in the Binghamton area.
I was up there broadcasting live from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., and the party went on until well after midnight. Some of the highlights from this year's Shelter Slam were Battery; The Metallica Tribute band, Joey Belladonna's Chief Big Way, and the wedding that took place at the event. Congratulations to Kevin and Heather Hill who tied the knot at the event.
According to a post on the Shelter Slam Facebook page, the single day event brought in over $6,400. so far. Not to mention all the pet food that was donated at the event. The money will benefit The BC Humane Society, Every Dogs Dream, Jimmy J's Avian Rescue, Willows Wings, S.P.E.A.K., Pibbles and More, and A.M.P.S. Congratulations to John De Lola, the organizer of the event and to everyone that helped volunteer, as well as all the bands that played this year.
If you couldn't make it out but you still want to show your support, you can still make a donation in Shelters Slam's name at any of the shelters named above, or you can mail a check made payable to Shelter Slam to 383 Sulphur Springs Rd, Owego, New York. 13827.
Organizers are already planning next year's event and they plan to make it even bigger and better.
