Rock Hall Nominees Announced – Vote Here

The nominees are up for next year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions and your vote can make a difference, more info and direct link to vote for your choices here.

I never agree with most of the final selections and there are some on this year’s ballot that make no sense including Tupac Shakur, Janet Jackson and a group I have never heard of called Bad Brains.

There are several that are worthy to be in that elite group of past inductees, like Yes, Journey, Steppenwolf, and the Zombies.

Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Chic, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, J. Geils Band, Jane’s Addiction, Janet Jackson, Joan Baez, Joe Tex, Journey, Kraftwerk, MC5, Pearl Jam, Steppenwolf, The Cars, The Zombies, Tupac Shakur, and Yes.

Apparently the ‘Rock’ in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has a new meaning, as proven with several non-rock genre artists who have been inducted over the past few years, including Madonna, Donna Summers, and NWA (which I can’t even say what the letters stand for)

I’m not opposed to recognizing artists like Madonna and Janet Jackson for their contributions to the arts, but my argument is they are NOT rock genre performers.

Do you think the Grand Ole Opry would induct Ozzy? Hell no, so why are pop artists and hard core rappers enshrined in a building that recognizes and celebrates Rockers?
