It's a big political year. I'm sure you are well aware of that. This year will bring us a new President of the United States. That's a pretty big deal.

I'm not going to get into any political discussion here. I'd rather keep any thoughts I have about politics and all that it is, to myself. One reason is, I've noticed, mostly on social media, that friends are really engaging in some heated debates on the candidates, not only for the Oval Office, but also for state and local races.

Many are a bit over the top, and those who are on the opposite side, are lashing back. These are normally friends with each other. Ouch. If there's a positive to come of this, it confirms the fact that this is a free country and free expression goes with that.

The other issue is the ever increasing bashing some politicians are waging on each other. I'd prefer to hear what you can do to make this country, state, county, city and town better for the future. That's it.

I can only hope that when the political dust settles the day after the elections (barring any disputes or too close to calls) on November 9th, everyone can go back to being friends, and we can resume chuckling about the latest cat video to post on social media.
