Law enforcement, state environmental and other authorities had a stinky assignment as a truck loaded with manure tipped over and leaked its load in Northern Broome County on July 7.

The cause of the 3:27 p.m. crash of the manure truck on Church Road in Lisle is still under investigation.

There were no injuries.

Firefighters from Lisle and Whitney Point were called to the scene with the report of a rollover crash and found the vehicle leaking liquid manure on the roadway in the vicinity of 13 Church Road.

Broome County Emergency Services officials had no information concerning the owner of the truck or where it was headed.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response Team was also called to the site.  There was no information available this morning concerning any adverse impact to the environment from the spill or how long the clean-up operations took to complete.
