I Know It's Early but It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This past Saturday, after I finished my show here on the Whale, Chris and I got the outdoor Christmas decorations out of our attic.

I spent the next 5 hours or so putting up strand after strand of Christmas lights and hanging wreaths while Chris was busy hanging the window decorations.

We had a couple strands of lights that didn't work so we had to run to the store to get more. We're not planning on turning them on for a while yet, but with everything we gave scheduled for a next few weekends, we knew we had to get it done Saturday.

I was more than three-quarters of the way done when one of my neighbors pulled into their driveway. She got out of her car and started yelling at me in a joking manor saying, “Come on, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, don't start with that”. So I explained to her that we have very busy weekends coming up between now and Christmas so it was now or never.

I had another friend reach out to me on Facebook and basically yell at me for putting the Christmas decorations up way too early. I had to explain the busy weekend scenario to them as well.

What's the big deal? Sorry if I offended you, but again if we didn't do it this past weekend, we probably would not have had time before Christmas.

I wasn't planning on turning on the lights until Thanksgiving, but just to irk my two friends, I might have to turn them on starting tonight.
