Few SUNY Broome Students Tested Positive for COVID-19

SUNY Broome Community College officials say the residential students who have tested positive for the coronavirus have returned home to isolate.

The college Monday released the results of COVID-19 testing conducted over the last several days.

According to a SUNY Broome news release, four of the 203 students tested between August 27 and August 30 had positive results. 199 students tested negative.

Results from the rapid antigen test were available in about 20 minutes. Students waited for the results in a campus parking lot as the samples were processed.

SUNY Broome President Kevin Drumm expressed appreciation to Binghamton University for providing supplies, test-reading equipment and the training for those who conducted the tests.
