It's the Money Man's Birthday. Happy Birthday, Eddie! Born on this date in 1949, Edward Joseph Mahoney is 69.

Eddie didn't start out in the music industry. He was in the New York City Police Department for a short time, joining many of his family in the line of law enforcement.

But he was bitten by the music bug, packed up his belongings and moved to California. After working hard at his craft in Los Angeles clubs, success began to pay off.

Eddie has recorded 11 albums and had several hits including  Baby Hold On, Two Tickets To Paradise, Maybe I'm A Fool, Think I'm In Love and Shakin' among others.

He has performed in the Binghamton area several times, including the old Magic City Music Hall and Spiediefest. We had fun hanging with him backstage at his shows.

You'll still catch him out on tour this year, including Batavia Downs in Batavia, NY on June 22nd. For this week's Classic Rock Pick, let's look in on the Money Man performing Baby Hold On during 1977 Midnight Special, introduced by Steven Perry.
