A Cortland man is charged with felony counts of burglary and grand larceny after sheriff’s deputies say they found the owner of a home on Briar Meadow Road in Homer detaining the suspect awaiting their arrival November 22.

Investigators say, on Monday 27-year-old Hunter Brandon allegedly broke into a garage and stole a vehicle that he got stuck in the yard. Officials say Brandon then returned to the garage and tried to force his way into the house.

To make matters worse for the suspect, Deputies say they found Brandon had allegedly been driving while his abilities were impaired by drugs.

In addition to the felony burglary and grand larceny counts, Brandon is charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs.

He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Town of Homer Court next month.
