Cortland County Man Charged with Over a Dozen Felonies for Funny Money
A Town of Marathon resident is accused of trying to pass fake $100 bills at gas stations in McGraw and Cortlandville.
Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they got complaints about bogus bucks March 26 at the Sunoco Gas Station on Route 11 and the McGraw Travel Plaza/Pit Stop, also on Route 11.
32-year-old Jarod O’Neill is charged with 12 felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, two felony counts of falsifying business records, two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and a misdemeanor parole violation.
Deputies say they found O’Neill in possession of several more counterfeit $100 bills and a small amount of narcotics.
He’s to appear in Town of Cortlandville and City of Cortland Courts next month.
