Cortland County Man Accused of Unwanted Contact With Minor
A Cortland County man is being charged with several counts of rape and sex abuse for allegedly having unwanted sexual contact with an underage girl multiple times in multiple towns.
Sheriff’s officials say 20-year-old Elijah Teeter was arrested Wednesday, January 19 after several arrest warrants had been issued. The Virgil man became aware of the warrants and turned himself in at the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say they had been looking into several incidents that were said to have happened with an underage female over several years in Solon, Truxton and Virgil.
Teeter is charged with two felony counts of Rape as well as two misdemeanor counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Town of Solon. He’s charged with felony Sex Abuse and misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Town of Truxton and felony Sex Abuse and misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Town of Virgil.
Teeter was released on his own recognizance, a full Stay Away Order of Protection has been issued for the victim and Teeter has been scheduled to return to courts in the Towns of Virgil, Solon and Truxton next month.
