College Football Playoffs; It’s a Good Start
For years I've been saying that college football needed playoffs to determine the national champion. Years ago they implemented the four-team playoffs. And as much as I enjoy that, I still don't think it's enough. I think the NCAA should have an 8-team playoff system. The 8th ranked team takes on the top-ranked team, the 7th ranked team will take on the second-ranked team and so on. Some teams are just hitting their stride at this time of year and very well could be the best team in the country. We wouldn't know unless they got a chance to play for the National Championship. Instead of sportswriters, computers, and coaches determining who should be playing for the national championship, why don't we let the college athletes make that determination?
Who wouldn't want more games like yesterday's game between Georgia and Oklahoma? It looked like Oklahoma was going to run away with it until Georgia came out in the second half and look like a totally different team. That game was determined in overtime and I for one would have no problem watching more of those 'loser goes home, winner moves on' games. Instead of the meaningless bowl games that feature schools that I've never heard of.
What do you think?
