Classic Rock from A to Z is now in it's second week, with many more songs to go before we play that final song.

As of this writing, we are in the letter 'R', as we continue to play every song from Binghamton's largest on-air Classic Rock library from A to Z b y title. It's cool to hear some of those 'oh-wow' tunes and songs you haven't heard in a long time.

The awesome this about Classic Rock is, these songs bring back memories. Hopefully good memories. Maybe a memory of a past love, or a time in your youth that you'd love to re-visit...or not.

When I hear 'Riders On The Storm' by The Doors, it takes me back to the summer before my senior year. That was one of the big hits on the radio at the time, and it was kind of a summer theme song for my friends and me.

When we play 'Witchy Woman' by The Eagles, it will once again remind me that was the first song I played during my first radio show as a part time DJ on a local radio station in Corning, New York. (Oh, wait, I should have said in Upstate New York, as any town outside of New York City is referred to by media outside of the Southern Tier.)

I remember being so nervous as the song ended and I was about to talk on the microphone for the first time. I don't remember exactly what I said or how I sounded, but I'm sure it wasn't good.

And there's The Who's 'Baba O'Riley.' It takes me back to the 1980s when I saw The Who in Buffalo and Syracuse. Those shows had to be one of the best I've ever attended.

I'm sure many of these songs trigger some great memories for you as Classic Rock should do, and I hope you are enjoying every song from A to Z on 99.1 The Whale. You can rock with us on your radio, the free Whale App, on The Whale website and on Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
