The opening in the 1970's featured a swamp and dead tree and a creepy six fingered hand rising from a blood swamp then came the creep voice 'C-H-I-L-L-E-R.

I remember when cable TV became available to our area, for less than $5 a month Southern Tier residents could get 11 channels, which included multiple station out of NYC, like WNEW, WOR and WPIX.

The show aired on Saturdays at 8:30pm in the 1970's although it had been a staple on WPIX TV in New York City since the early 1960's.

I remember seeing movies like 'The Crawling Hand' 'The Crawling Eye' and one of my all time favorites 'Tarantula'

I loved the show opening which by the way was produced by legendary animation specialist, Rankin/Bass of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman fame.
