Set to take place at Dorchester Park in the Town of Triangle near Whitney Point on Saturday, June 26, 2021, the Brome County Parks Triathlon will, in part, benefit the Broome County Parks Handicapped Children’s Playground fund which will help to build accessible playgrounds.

The 2021 Broome County Parks Triathlon will have three different race distances. The Triathlon will include a 1/2-mile swim, a 12-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run. The Aqua Bike will include a 1/2-mile swim, and a 12-mile bike, and the Duathlon will include a 1.5-mile run, a 12-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run.

In order to participate in the Broome County Parks Triathlon, you must be a member of the USA Triathlon and you should know that COVID-19 safety measures will be in place.

If you are not a member of USA Triathlon, you can sign up for a one-day membership. At this time, the county is only allowing 130 participants but says they hope to be able to open the Triathlon to more people in the near future.

The cost to participate is $60.00 for the Triathlon, Aqua Bike, or the Duathlon and registration is open until June 19 at the RunSignUp website.

Note: There will be no Youth Triathlon in 2021 as part of this event because Broome County Parks is following the guidance of USA Triathlon which discourages the youth portion due to a large number of crowds it tends to draw. If you signed up for the Youth Triathlon, you will be refunded minus the USA Triathlon and RunSignUp fees.
