Authorities say the body of a man whose kayak overturned near Dorchester Park has been recovered.

According to New York State Police, 57-year-old James D. Jones of Louisiana had been missing since his kayak tipped over in the Whitney Point reservoir Saturday evening.

Investigators say the man's body was found around 9 a.m. Tuesday. State police were assisted by members of the Whitney Point Fire Department.

Broome County officials have said the boat overturned about one-half mile upstream from Dorchester Park in the town of Triangle.

Jones had been kayaking with another person when the incident occurred.
