You have family or friends coming to town. Or maybe a client or work-related person about to visit the Binghamton area. What would you suggest to that person, one Southern Tier restaurant that would be worth making the trip for?

That's a tough question. We have so many great places to dine in the Southern Tier. I guess I would first ask the person what kind of food they prefer, and any restrictions or food choices before making a suggestion.

But, let's just say there are no restrictions or preferences. I recently asked readers "What would you suggest to someone, not from our area, one Southern Tier restaurant that would be worth making the trip for?" I expected a few answers but ended up with a lot of answers.

Obviously,  our area restaurants have left quite an impression on Southern Tier residents. So much so, that they would feel confident recommending a visit to anyone coming to visit from out of town. And I'm sure that person(s) would be more than satisfied with our restaurant recommendation.

The list of suggestions is long, and that's a good thing. I took a look at 11 restaurants that received multiple mentions, and you can see them below. Added to that gallery, I listed other restaurants that were also recommended as well. Bon Appétit.
