A person being processed at the intake section of Broome County Jail faces a felony count after corrections officers discovered heroin and other concealed drugs.

Authorities say 28-year-old Joseph Santi of Binghamton was arrested Monday.

According to a new release from the Broome County Sheriff's Office, the agency's warrant division had taken Santi into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Investigators say heroin, suboxone and prescription pills were found during the intake process.

Santi was charged with one count of first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony. He also was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
