
Free Beach Bash At Nathaniel Cole Park Brings Fireworks And Family Fun
Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out the Broome County Department of Parks and Recreation's 5th Annual Beach Bash on Saturday, August 15.
This fun event will be held at Nathaniel Cole Park, beginning at 2 p.m. It's a free event and family-friendly. According to Broome County, the day will include an afternoon and evening of entertainment and recreation, including swimming, boating, beach games, food, beverages, and interactive activities with local organizations.
A balloon artist will be on hand, and there will be inflatable games for children of all ages.
Some events include:
3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - The Frog and Toad Jumping Contest
3:30 p.m. - Live music from local band The Bro Bro's
7 p.m. - Illusionist David Black
At dusk, the staff from Broome County Parks will be lighting beachside fire pits for visitors to roast marshmallows and make s'mores, concluding with a fireworks display over the water.
Food vendors will be set up at the Beach Bash with plenty of offerings, including hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, funnel cakes, ice cream, popcorn, lemonade, and more.
Brome County Parks notes that visitors are allowed to bring their own charcoal, lighter, and food to enjoy the park's public grills. By the way, parking is free.
For those needing transportation, BC Transit is offering complimentary shuttle service between Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton and Nathaniel Cole Park to the Beach Bash.
Shuttles will depart at the following times: 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Return Trips from Nathaniel Cole Park will depart at: 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m.
